There is nothing here to be trapped in.
Short enough to read before a meeting, and there is no longer version. Everything your finance person would want to check is on this page.
- 01
It is yours from the first day
Your data, the connections and the code sit in your company's name. I operate them for you. If we stop, you keep all of it, running, with every number's definition written down.
- 02
One month's notice, from the first month
From either side. No minimum term and no break fee. If month four is not better than month three, you should leave, and I would rather build something you stay in than something you cannot get out of.
- 03
Paid against what has been delivered
The build is paid in parts, each one when its piece is delivered, never at signing. If it stops after the first part, you have paid for the first part. After that, the monthly service is invoiced month by month.
- 04
I will tell you if it is not worth it
Before anything is built I go through your numbers. If I do not find enough there to justify the fee, I will say so and decline the work.
- 05
Where your data lives, and who can see it
In a data warehouse registered to your company, in the EU. I have access in order to operate it, and nobody else does. Your data never sits beside another client's, and nothing you send me appears on this site or anyone else's.
- 06
When the next build can start
This is one person doing the work, so there is a next start date rather than a queue. Ask and I will tell you what it is.
The rest of what gets asked.
- We already have BI. What changes?
- Your BI is fine. It has never been given these numbers. None of the figures in the example on the front page is recorded anywhere; each has to be worked out first.
- We know our margins.
- By category, yes. Inside a single category the return rate runs from roughly 8 per cent to roughly 34 per cent depending on who is buying and where. Whatever one rate your system uses is wrong for most of your catalogue, in both directions at once.
- Our agency handles the ad optimisation.
- The platforms optimise extremely well toward whatever target they are given, and they have been given revenue or conversion value. Nobody is doing anything wrong, they are just aiming at the wrong target.
- What do you need from us?
- Access, a couple of conversations at the start to agree what the numbers mean, and then reading a brief and saying yes or no to what is in it.
- Do we have to change platform or stop using our current reports?
- No. It reads what you already run and nothing gets switched off. Your existing reports keep working, and after a while people stop opening them.
So which of your bestsellers is it?
Write to me and I will tell you where I would look first in your numbers, and whether it is worth your money. Nothing to prepare, and no call until you want one.
If it is worth going further, I read your numbers rather than talk about them. Then I ask for a yes or a no. A maybe is the only answer that costs us both something.
